Clothespin, a new craft idea

How can such a simple object as a clothespin can be transformed in so many crafty ideas?

Wooden clothespin can be used not only for hanging the wash, but also for many different crafty ideas.

I always look on Pinterest and web for inspiration but i do not copy other’s ideas and projects.

What i learned in this first year of blogging is that it’s not easy to be different and share new solutions.

I love to be differt and to show my originality but it’s an hard work. And you know…

It’s exciting when a new  idea come!

I’m very happy to show you my project, you’ll enjoy it for sure :

  • is simple
  • cheap
  • easy to make
  • useful.

Follow the picture above to make it from different clothespin.

Simply glue together three of them and use a cardboard to close one side.

I have a beautiful cardboard book  from Tiger shop   that was waiting to be used for a project. I choosed three different decorations for the back side.

This is the final look of the triangle boxes , i use them in my bedroom to store my precius rings and jewels.

“One famous clothespin is a sculpture by Claes Oldenburg, entitled Clothespin. It is in Philadelphia across the street from the City Hall, and can be seen in the movie Trading Places.”

Juicy loves Juice

Did you read my last post about DIY drink coasters and a special summer Juice?

If not …well it’s time to “fix” your lack ;).

Here you can find my DIY post where i explain how to create the FAB drink coasters in the pictures above, made from an Escher drawing.

Do you like this project?

You still can use them on your table and enjoy with a sweet juice and your friends.

Summer in Rome is very hot, if you can’t go to the beach the best solution is to drink a cold juice on a terrace.

The Juice in the picture is a very simple making Grapefruit Juice made with a juice extractor.

This Grapefruit Juice recipe is very simple, you only need:

  • grapefruit and cucumbers, mint with some added ginger and mint leaves. The cucumber is perfect ’cause gives hydration to carry you through the sweltering heat.

Here you can find another Juice recipe idea based with oranges and apples , perfect for summer time, Check it!

And even if my holidays are gone…i think Summer is a state of mind.

Escher: a DIY idea

Escher:  a challenging DIY project for me!

The peculiarity of this project is that my idea came out from a Escher’s beautiful drawing : ” Metamorphosis”.

Last 21th of June was the first day of Summer and i wanted to make a new DIY project perfect for this period.

I love Escher but “never in my life” i could ever imagine that his visionary drawing would fit in my idea of a simple drinks coaster.

Sorry for that, Mr Escher 🙂

Paper roses DIY & Happy Mother’s Day! – Free postcard n.4

Paper roses: In this tutorial i will help you to make realistic paper roses in a very simple way!  This is a cheap solution to make a flower bouquet with your imagination . My idea is to use paper roses to decorate a card for the upcoming Mother’s day . Your mom will for sure appreciate it 🙂

Happy mother's day

May is the month of the year i prefer the most for several reasons.

  • I was born the 8th of May, this is why i feel very comfortable with this period
  • there are many different flowers in the fields
  • the sky i turns into a deep and warm blue
  • I usually start to go for long walkings to the beach
  • I use to eat at least one ice-cream at week!

There is also a nice coincidence, in several places in the world the 8th of May is usually know as the “Mother’s day” and roses are the best known flowers of this period!

Free Carnival postcard & mask – Free postcard n.2

I’m happy to share with you  a diy “Carnival postcard”: a paper postcard that can be used as a mask too

The key words of this blog post are: Carnival + DIY + postcard + art therapy, such a great mix of ideas!

(ps. This is the second FREE POSTCARD i made, if you missed the first one…have a look to this page.)

The Carnival-postcard-mask was a present for my super friend Irene. The drawing for the postcard was inspired by her and the gorgeous city where she lives: Barcelona. Irene is an enthusiastic architect, i think she’ll enjoy the idea that she can color herself the postcard-mask.

Download for free the Carnival Mask i made for my friend Irene – here – .

The idea, the project and the drawing is a “Do it Juicy” original idea, inspired by “art therapy”.

I’m a proud supporter of the power of colors and pencils, drawing help my to be concentrated and has a therapeutic power.

(WIKI …  Adult coloring books help with developing fine motor skills and vision, reducing anxiety and creating focus, and relieving stress and anxiety in a manner similar to meditation.[19] Concentrating on coloring may facilitate the replacement of negative thoughts and images with pleasant ones….)

The “Carnival-postcard-mask” has a double use:

  • you can choose to write-colour-and send it to a fried
  • or you can just made your own carnival mask…HOW?

Just follow the following instructions, but first download here the FREE TEMPLATE

Do you believe in La La Land?

La la land: “to think that things that are completely impossible might happen, rather than understanding how things really are”

Cambridge Dictionary

I’m in love with La La Land movie, do you know why? Don’t worry i’m not going to spoil.

I’m in love with Ryan Gosling,  Los Angeles, Emma Stone’s yellow dress (and short hair..wow) and jazz music!

La la land is not a movie about love and music, is a “state of mind”.  It is about everyday life and “explores the joy and pain of pursuing our dreams”. The fact is…what will you choose : your dream or your eternal love?

While i still think about this…let’s go to sleep and dream about Ryan Gosling!

The movie is just a key for me to show you the following moodboard about “Famous dance scenes in movies”.  The best 8 scenes in my “la la land” world.

Are you late for your carnival dress idea? Let’s be inspired and do it yourself :

  1. Dirty dancing 1987 – Time of my life
  2. La la land 2016
  3. Grease 1978 – You’re the one that i want
  4. The blues brothers 1980 –
  5. The beauty and the beast 1991
  6. Titanic 1997 – Third class dance
  7. Pulp fiction 1994
  8. The mask 1994

And the winner is….

🙂

Christmas table setting

Finally i have time to show you the “Do it Juicy Christmas table setting”.

Have a look and save some DIY ideas for your next party.

I used natural materials and colors :

  • gold (as stars)
  • green (as plants)
  • white (as snow)
  • and light brown (as wood)

I love the soft light of candles and the mix of different materials like glass, plants (eucalyptus) and wood.

My table was not too big and i didn’t have too much space to make a centerpiece. So i made three different spots running on a central tape of a natural cotton. Each spot was made of : one white candle, one small glass jar ad some eucalyptus.

And sure there was a present for my guests too! A DIY christmas ball in each plate with guests photos inside.

It was a magic christmas, do you like it?

Here you can find more photos of my project.

Enjoy 🙂
